Nitecore NL1836R 3600mAh USB-C Rechargeable 18650 Battery

Ordered this NL 1836R rechargeable battery when I purchased my MT2C Pro (even though the flashlight came with one). In my experience, it’s always good to have a fully charged spare battery on hand that can be swapped with the one that needs charging so you’re always ready to go. Nothing worse than needing to use your flashlight but can’t because the battery is being charged.

I had been using "affordable" 18650 batteries from China since I bought my EC4 years ago and the flashlight never worked right. It wouldn't turn on at times or come on and turn off, would strobe, wouldn't cycle through the power setting, etc. I was beginning to think the flashlight was defective. But I bought these and it has worked perfectly ever since. Very pleased.

Warning: Battery is longer then a standard 18650 so measure your device before ordering.

I am writing this review in case anyone has the same combination of weapon light body and light head as me. I am using an Arisaka 18650 body and a Malkof E2XTL V2 head. The added length of this 18650 for the USB-C charger does not interfere with the fitment of the head on the body.

I ordered three of these batteries. I wanted one for my Nitecore EC25 flashlight that I have had for a number of years. Using a pair of 123A batteries with limited use the batteries always are dead when I try to use it, even being locked out. So I wanted to try an 18650 rechargeable. I charged it initially but when installed it does nothing, even though it checks okay with a meter. I then tried pairs of Surefire and Tenergy 123A batteries and they work fine.
I bought the other two NL1835R for a pair of Surefire G2X flashlights and the batteries are too fat to fit. What a waste of money.

It was kind of expensive but the capacity I measured of 3700mAh was greater than the advertised 3600mAh which was good.

These batteriee are the best, they work, every time. Cheap knockoffs quit sfter a few uses, refuse to recharge. Nitecore in all my flashlights and lasers, i wont settle for anything less. When you need a light, you know it will work when you buy these. Z

It's longer than a standard 18650. Nightcore simply made the overall length longer to accommodate USB C charging. Therefore, it would not fit in my weapon lights or helmet lights. Two stars simply due to design flaw.

Wouldnt fit application. Recommended by AGM for use in thermal scope but battery was too long. Wish I could return it.

This battery doesn't work in my HC65 or LR12. It's too long.

Quick shipping! I like that these batteries have their own charging port! I can recharge one while I ride with the other using my on board battery pack for bike packing! I use a headlamp to supplement my headlights!

This battery is too long to be an 18650. It only fits a minority of flashlights or radios...it should note this in the product's copy.

Great battery from a great brand. However, it was not clear in the product description that the battery cannot be discharged via the usb port (only recharged)

If you order a nitecore 18650 battery for a nitecore flashlight it should fit. Then on top of that you get charged shipping and re-stocking for a product that will not work. Bad business practice. I was assigned to find good company gift lights for a corporation with hundreds of employee's. I could never in good conscience recommend this company and will never purchase again.

They are not true 18650 batteries

I love the idea of this rechargeable battery! And maybe the product listing said "NOT STANDARD 18650 SIZE" in big bild letters, but I didn't see it. Yes, it doesn't fit in my flashlight, so it is useless to me.

Bought an extra not knowing how long it would actually hold a charge. I found I did not need it. But it also fits my back up light.

I've enjoyed using Nitecore batteries for years. It's good to know their products still perform at a high level.

The best battery that I have used!

18650 Li-Ion rechargeables with a built in USB-C charger and proper protection circuitry is harder to find than you might think. I had no less than three employees at “All we sell are batteries!!” stores tell me they had never heard of them, and one told me he’d never heard of 18650’s with a built in charger at all! This one charges fast, holds the charge long and has a good capacity. Highly recommended.
