Customers praised this universal charger for its fast charging, clear display, and ability to handle multiple battery types. Many called it "fantastic" and appreciated the battery health monitoring feature. However, some reported a high-pitch noise when idle, limitations with D-cell and 21700 battery fit, and reliability concerns with failed units after extended use.
It's a very good charger, and is great for 18650s and smaller.
Butfor people that need higher capacity, the world is moving to 21700s. This charger is too small to fit protected 21700s, and that would only cost a couple pennies in slightly more plastic and the sliding contacts to extend the length a few mm.
In the world of 21700s, we can appreciate 3A charging more than any other customers...

It's fantastic
The worst feature - a high pitch barely audible pulsating noise, source of which I could not identify for days. Only two D-cell batteries fit. No test, charge and recharge cycle available, so capacity can't be measured correctly. Sometimes displays 0 (zero) mOhms internal resistance and 0 mA charging current. Goes back...
First, yes you can fit a D-sized cell, but only if you skip a location, this leaves you with two slots. Second, the charger does not have a recharge or test mode. Third, it frequently shows 0 mA charging current and 0 mOhm internal resistance - why, don't ask me. It does charge batteries, but the 6A claim is only true when you have loaded, if you use all four slots each will have a max of 1.5A. An OKish charger, but not smart or comprehensive in my opinion.
I was disappointed that it did not fit my NL2160 battery. I need two battery chargers to keep my headlamps charged.
Great charger. I love the heads up display and it is fast and easy to use and understand.

For a portable quad charger it's rugged and charges quick. It handles lots more batteries then the batteries it shows in the images. Bottom line, best charger for its money.
Overall unsatisfied with this product from Nitecore. Unit emits noticeable coil whine while idle/not charging. Noise diminishes when charging, but is replaced by a clicking/ticking sound.
Battery health status is a nice feature to have, as is the ability to change charge current. Unfortunately it does not remember the setting and has to be changed every time.
Maybe a defective unit, but after replacing a i2, i4, and D4 models due to failed ports I have little faith in the reliability of this product and will be looking elsewhere.
Wonderfully fast as well as safe, technologically advanced charger with intuitive interface just make sure to actually read and understand the enclosed instructions for operation and customization of the charging and monitoring process. Well worth the money and something to note a regular 110 good power cord adapter is included in the package.
This charger handles many different sizes and chemistries. It even does Lithium ferrophosphate (LiFePO4) batteries...one of the safest chemistries out there. In my opinion, Nitecore is a premium line for their engineering, materials, build, and support.
I'm hoping this new SC4 lasts longer: My first SC4, purchased in Sept. 2022, may have been a lemon because it failed after 20 months of daily use, generally charging two 18650 batteries per day. I have an I4 from 2015 that's still going strong, but needed the SC4 to charge 18350 batteries in addition to 18650s. Here's hoping the quality has improved.

Sometimes it is hard to place batteries correctly in the chambers. I don't know if they are in the right position for charging. Sometimes it just does not look centered
