Nitecore EDC09 Swivel Head 1600 Lumen Rechargeable EDC Flat Flashlight

A must have for sure. I bought this light when it first went on sale and have loved every feature about it and is very useful and easy to use.
Out of all of the EDC flashlights I own from Nitecore the EDC09 is the one I always go for when it’s for work related things or hobbies, but especially during camping or power outages. It’s the prefect ambient lighting for camping and not harsh at all with the difference temperature feature.
One thing to note about it is to be careful around sand! Sand will get stuck in the sliding switch and can make it feel weird or not slide all the way to the top!

Perfect for hikes, can clip to pocket and illuminate trail in front of me for me and my dog. Just be careful touching the plate behind the light, it gets hot!! love the ability to change the light temp with a push of a button and the convenience of usb c charging.

Great light for working on the car. The beam is more of a wide flood pattern, which makes it perfect for illuminating a large area without harsh hotspots. I really like being able to choose between 6500K, 5000K, and 4000K color temperatures (the exact Kelvin numbers may vary, but it’s great having options).
The magnetic base makes it even more convenient—you can easily attach it to metal surfaces while you work. It’s also compact and lightweight enough that I carry it in my pocket and can barely feel it’s there.
Overall, a very handy and versatile light.

After putting the Nitecore EDC09 through its paces, it is clear that this light successfully bridges the gap between a pocketable EDC and a dedicated work light.

Beam & Output I conducted 10-foot beam pattern tests against a large white wall target, and the results were consistent: the beam is best described as a wide spot or a heavily center-weighted flood. This profile is excellent for general tasks, offering broad visibility without a blinding hotspot.

Color Temperature One of the standout features is the variable output. While my testing showed the highest Lux output at 10 feet came from the cooler 6500K setting, I found the warmth of the 3000K and 4500K options significantly preferable for visual clarity and eye comfort.

Design & Usability The utility of this light is defined by its adaptability. Having the ability to adjust the angle of the head is wonderful, and the pivot point itself feels very robust. Regarding build quality, the construction features a high-strength stainless steel body with a PVD coating, which explains the substantial, premium feel in hand. Combined with exceptionally intuitive controls, it is a joy to use. I'll have a complete and detailed video review of the EDC09 at Earthling.com later this month. The EDC 09 has been great. I have a few Nitecore flashing this is definitely going to stay in my daily rotation for work. I’m a paramedic and I’ve used it to poorly light up room treat patients. I appreciate the UI simplicity and the lack of a strobe.

Would have cheerfully given a 5 star review for an excellent light BUT for the need to press the button to access low-lumen (1 lumen) setting while sliding the slider switch forward. Should have been incorporated as a fourth setting on the slider switch.

Basic functions are state of the art. The two things that really make this light shine (pun intended) are: the swivel head, and the ability to select different color temperatures. Standard LEDs can be uncomfortably cool in some situations. Being able to warm it up is great.

I love this light. It fits nicely in my shirt pocket without being overly heavy. I was able to stop wearing my flashlight on my belt that was handy, but would turn on sometimes when I was sitting. This one has easy to use brightness adjustment, flex angle head, and magnetic base. It is probably my favorite and I have 5 lights that I regularly carry. This one is my everyday carry now.

This is a great light. Well-made, the switch feels sturdy and the fit and finish are noticeable. The magnetic base is a nice addition.

This flashlight checks all the boxes for a small carry light. It has great light output, the different colors are very useful. Battery life is adequate for the type of flashlight it is. Very well-made, love the adjustable light and clip. You can’t go wrong..
