The Nitecore EDC31 flashlight boasts an amazing brightness and throw with a compact size, making it an ideal choice for everyday carry. Featuring the innovative NiteLab UHi 20 MAX LED, the EDC31 delivers a powerful 3500 lumen output and an impressive throw of 415 yards. For momentary modes, half-press and hold to activate the 1500 lumen spotlight for searching, or fully press and hold to engage the full 3500 lumen output. Fully press the tail switch to power the light on or off. While the light is on, perform a half-press to cycle through four different brightness levels for daily tasks. The selected brightness level is memorized even after turning off the light.
USB-C Rechargeable
The EDC31 can be charged through its built-in USB-C port. Once fully charged, the EDC31 can achieve a maximum runtime of 57 hours on its lowest mode and can be fully charged in under 2 hours. A power indicator located on the top of the tailcap will notify you of the battery level and when it's done charging. The EDC31 also features two lockout modes with an easy-to-use sliding switch: Half and Full to prevent accidental activation and quick access. In Half Lockout Mode, you can still access the Search and Lumin Shield, while the Full Lockout will fully prevent any accidental activation.
Compact and Durable
At a compact size of 4.46 inches and a weight of only 3.53 ounces with the clip attached, the EDC31 easily fits into any pocket. It is also IP68 waterproof and has a 2-meter impact resistance, ensuring reliable performance in any environment.

Compact, powerful flashlight delivering 3500 lumens with USB-C charging. Customers praised its brightness, size, and intuitive controls. The light pattern from the flashlight is not optimum in close quarters. It has a dark spot in the center. The spot that is supposed to match the actual level has a very large low intensity halo around it. It is a nice size to carry in a front pocket. Often when I put it in my pocket, the lock switch gets pushed off when sliding it into my pocket. I then find my flashlight on inside my pocket.
Really disappointed with the Nitecore EDC31. Even after being fully charged, mine will randomly shut off completely during use. Sometimes it also refuses to cycle through the brightness levels when I half-press the button like it’s supposed to.
For an EDC flashlight, reliability is one of the most important things, and I shouldn’t have to wonder whether the light is going to work when I need it. The brightness and compact size are great when it actually works, but the random shutoffs and inconsistent controls make it hard to trust.
After contacting Nitecore about the issue, they wanted me to send the flashlight in. I’m still within 30 days of purchase, and I didn’t want to wait around for a repair, so I contacted them again to make sure the address they provided was also the correct place to send it for a return and refund instead of a repair. They never responded to that message.
I expected much better reliability and customer service. Between the defective flashlight and not being able to get a simple answer about returning it for a refund while I’m still within 30 days of purchase, I would not recommend the EDC31 based on my experience.
Size is good, but definitely on the larger end for EDC. That being said, it performs. Nice bright light for 100+ yards, the controls are intuitive. One skim over the instructions and I understood the three modes and the brightness adjustments. The manual says it gets hot on the two temp modes, it is not lying. 20 seconds of max and you should not touch the front of it. That being said, these modes are only activated by holding partial pressure and cannot be stuck on by an accidental click. It can also be locked with an easy switch. This is a great flashlight, but it may be too big for EDC. If I were to dress up, it would look obnoxious in my opinion. Good excuse to buy a smaller flashlight too!
Love the product
There is a learning curve. For what ever reason turning the flashlight on while its memory was setting to the lowest setting proves to be difficult. It wants to immediately turn to spotlight mode. When i memory a higher setting the issue appears to go away. Maybe its user error. The light is very bright and everything else works as advertised.
Use it for work and its perfect helps my camera focus so much better especially using the highest option 3500 lumen and small its perfect for the job
Love the flashlight. It's the second one I've bought. I hate the double switch concept which for me turns every use into a strobe light show until a miracle occurs and the low setting is on. Everything is great from that point.
This Flashlight is great for everyday carry. I like how compact it is. I liked it so much that I bought two of them. One stays in my wife's vehicle and the other stays in my pocket. I like to walk at night so the different levels of brightness are perfect for what I do.
Love this light. It's small and easy to hold in a number of ways. The lockout switch makes so much more sense than a UI lockout. Really like having the battery level indicator. Bought a second one after receiving the first one!
Lighter, brighter, and longer battery life than the EDC27 which was my go to. Button also seems to be less likely to break and it was cheaper

I would not recommend this product to anyone the chances of burning yourself in prolonged use or even short-term use can result in Burns to your fingers or hand depending on how you are handling the flashlight this is a faulty piece of equipment and is not worth the price that they ask for it
Unusable. Becomes so hot within 15 seconds of turning on it will burn you.

This is one of my favorite flashlights, My dad has a lot of Nitecore flashlights and this is my personal favorite. Good price, super light, amazingly bright, great shiping and service, and perfect for EDC.

Rough, well built, plenty of brightness and throw, and even smaller for an inconspicuous EDC. I've got the 35, 33, and now 31. Love them all. Only wish they'd take replaceable batteries which is why I'm giving 4 stars.
Its a nice flashlight a bit on the big side for an edc light.
It’s pretty insane the output from these lights. This light will easily melt thru back plastic bags and the like at 1/2-1” distance. Wish it carried a tiny bit deeper but honestly it’s a great light for the money nevertheless.
