Description

400 Lumen Multi Color Temperature Headlamp

The Nitecore NU25 MCT UL rechargeable headlamp is the ideal companion for various activities such as camping, hiking, trail running, and more. Its ultra-high efficiency (UHE) LEDs are able to emit a bright 400 lumen beam that can reach distances of up to 144 yards. With its new Multiple Color Temperature (MCT) LEDs, the NU25 MCT UL lets you switch between warm, neutral, and cool light, which maximizes your visibility and comfort no matter the weather, terrain, or lighting condition. Warm Light (3000K) is easier on your eyes and is able to cut through fog and rain. Neutral White (4500K) offers a clear and natural light for various day-to-day activities while Cool White (6500K) is for enhanced visibility in outdoor environments. The NU25 MCT UL offers remarkable versatility with up to four different brightness levels that are able to shine in whatever color temperature you choose. Alternatively, switch to the Red Light mode to protect your night vision or use it as a long-lasting signal light with three red modes: Low, High, and Slow Flashing. The NU25 MCT UL also features modes like SOS and Beacon to assist you in any emergency.

Lightweight & USB-C Rechargeable

The NU25 MCT UL pursues the ultralight with easily adjustable elastic cords, bringing its total weight to just 1.65 oz—perfect for backpacking, night running, outdoor adventures, or camping. With a 700mAh rechargeable battery, it can achieve a maximum runtime of 45 hours on its lowest setting. It also has a USB-C port for easy charging, taking only a little more than an hour to reach full power. A power indicator lets you know when to recharge, and the lockout mode prevents accidental activation.

Sturdy and Dependable

The NU25 MCT UL is also rated IP66 waterproof and can withstand impacts of up to 1 meter, making it a reliable companion for everyday tasks, camping, hiking, and more, in any environment.

Customers praised this ultralight headlamp as "absurdly lightweight" with "phenomenal performance." Popular for backpacking and camping with multiple brightness settings and color temperatures. Battery life is strong and USB-C rechargeable. Some concerns about durability and UI design - one customer noted cycling through settings is inconvenient.

A great headlight for everyday use

A great light for backpacking, hiking and general chores. It’s rechargeable w a usbC cord. This thing is super lightweight with very easy to understand buttons. Quickly adjust for various headwear. Multiple brightness on both the red and white spectrum. This is my go to headlamp out on the trail and for everyday tasks. You will be impressed with this light.

so far it great

so far it great. Used camping and around house/property. I like the ease of control buttons, easy red light activation and overall lightweight. i purchased to be my back packing light. Not sure how long battery last yet but i am happy so far. durability may be an issue since my last model, which i liked, broke and can no longer be used on headband strap. I didnt even use it for very long.

This is super light weight and fits my small head

This is super light weight and fits my small head, so that's a win! Haven't had the chance to take it out just yet, but I tested it with some jogging and it stays in place and I'm loving how bright it can be, but also the different options of brightness.

I had an older NU25 and lost it canoeing

I had an older NU25 and lost it canoeing. So I bought a new one in yellow so I won’t loose it. And yes. I do like the 3 temp colors. Helps in different weather conditions. These are the best lights to camp with.

Pretty durable, definitely dexterous

This light lasted me 3 years but something inside the mode-changing button broke and so now I can’t turn out red-light mode. That’s sad but I’d recommend—usually with ultralight things I expect a significant decrease in durability. Although this did not last as long as some other headlamps I have had, 3 years is a solid run.

Other than that I appreciate how long the battery lasts, the scope of light (you can get a wide spread or a long distance beam), how light it is, and the ease of charging. Not sure how water proof/resistant it is but I’ve used it backpacking in the rain (under my hood) and it took some splashes and high humidity with no problems. I’ve also used it running, mountaineering, and mountain biking and it’s risen to each challenge with flexibility.

I love this headlight, 2nd purchase.

I love this headlight, in fact, this is the 2 mad one I bought. The first one I got 2 years ago when I was going on a month long home. After my return, my husband and I used it daily for doing handiwork, reading in bed, going out to our barn at night. This Christmas Santa got him his own one

Light and Bright

Nice little light, easy to switch colors.and the red light isn't overpowering. Like the head strap, easy to adjust and not to ruff on the long hair.

Best lightweight headlamp

Easily my favorite combination of runtime, weight, and features in a headlamp. I have this one and the old NU25 and reach for this one basically every time.

As an owner of the 2017 version NU25

As an owner of the 2017 version NU25, I found this version slightly disappointing. I declined to buy the 2023 version of the NU25 due to decreased candela and the bad UI. I was mostly interested in the MCT due to the higher candela per lumen rating, because I primarily prefer a more throwier beam. On that end, the NU25 MCT delivers, but in practical usage, the apparent visibility at a distance is about the same as the 2017 version. When compared side by side, trees at the far end of a field we're only slightly brighter than with the 2017 version. What's more annoying is the UI that differs from other nitecore headlamps that also seems counterintuitive. I have never needed to use the SOS or beacon modes on any flashlight, and it is slightly annoying that they are not hidden within button presses on the MCT. Furthermore, the most useful of the flashing modes, the red flashing light, is the third option and is only activated after going through the white light modes. If you're trying to activate it without washing out your rhodopsin, you need to hide it in your hands as you turn it on to activate the red blinking light. This seems backwards. I do like that this is now offered in yellow. I don't like that pass through charging is not an option like I was on the 2017 version.

In short, please include the following in the next model:
Same UI is 2017 version (the nu20 classic was close, but long pressing red to turn off in any situation was removed)
Hide white light blinking modes.
Make red blinking mode easier to activate
Add pass-through charging so headlamp can be used while being charged

Will be returning

I hate headlamps that do not turn on to the same setting that is it was when it was turned off. The different light temperatures are cool but not when you have to cycle through all the settings to get back to what it was when it was turned off.

Great ultralight option

This is a fantastic ultralight option for travel and backpacking. Good mix of comfort, output, and runtime. As a photographer I love the Multiple Color Temps!

I’m not a huge headlamp fan, but this will absolutely replace my Petzel Zipka as my headlamp for travel and backpacking. The Petzel is more compact, but the NU25 wins at everything else! Well done, and I look forward to seeing MCT integrated into more lights!
