3 Color Temperatures and Red Lights
The UT27 MCT offers three selectable color temperatures: 3000K warm light for better visibility in rain, fog, and snow; 4500K neutral white for clarity on steep slopes, streams, and muddy terrain; and 6500K cool white for maximum brightness and contrast during camping or urban night running. It also includes a red light mode, with steady or flashing options, to preserve night vision and enhance situational awareness. Dual switches allow fast, intuitive control for cycling between modes and adjusting brightness on the go.
Flexible Power and Rugged Design
For power, the UT27 MCT includes a USB-C rechargeable HLB1500 battery pack and is also compatible with 3×AAA batteries for backup flexibility. A built-in power indicator shows charging status, while lockout mode prevents accidental activation. With ultra-low standby power, it stays ready year-round, and a glow-in-the-dark battery compartment makes replacements easy in the dark. Weighing just 2.61 ounces (with battery and headband), the UT27 MCT is an excellent running companion. The breathable headband features a silicone strip that keeps the lamp secure and channels sweat away from the eyes, while reflective decals boost nighttime visibility. Been using headlamps on the high peaks and backcountry approaches for many years. Very well versed in their usage. Read the instruction booklet and guide and watched a couple of videos. Could not get the red light option to work. Wrote into support, they told me to fast double click to get the red light option to function. Took me many double clicks to get it finally working. It’s working but for the life of me, don’t know why it took this many clicks. Don’t know if it’s defective or not. Don’t want to hassle returning this at the moment. First Nitecore. I need complete reliability, this goes without saying. Could have given it five stars. Lots of features. Hope I have no issues going forward.
Unfortunately, headlamp that was supposed to come with two batteries came only with one. However Nitecore Customer Service was able to resolve the issue and ship another, of which I am wanting to receive. The bad part is the battery will not arrive in time for the trip I am going on. Nitecore would not overnight the battery, but chose to ship it snail mail. Hopefully the Headlamp works as advertised.

Great balance of power, control, comfort and weight. Really wanted access to warmer tones. The dual battery makes sense for long term use. Nitecore is my trusted brand for lighting and power.
Not the brightest headlamp I've seen. However, much more practical for my needs. Still on first battery. I can not attest to longevity. To date I've been pleased with previous experience with Nitecore. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. I would prefer a dial to access various modes rather than cycling through with buttons. 3000 lumens appears to be sweet spot for blowing snow.
An amazing solution, lightweight, compact and multifunctional. I still use the first generation flashlights, which I am very happy with.

The bracket does not hold tight the lamp. Sometimes the lamp drops Down during running.
Bright, easy to use, and comfortable to wear
I use my ut27 everyday because I wake up 3 to four hours before dawn and do chores, I wish the ut27 has a external usb-c port on it because I find the opening and closing of the light is not convenient for me!
Nice headlamp for camping. The different light functions are great.
Love the yellow light I have problems seeing with the bright white light the glare bothers me so the yellow light is perfect and only having one good arm the headlight is perfect for me
