Description

6500 Lumen EDC Flashlight

The Nitecore EDC29 flashlight offers exceptional brightness and throw, making it a very powerful flashlight yet still suited for everyday carry. Equipped with the innovative NiteLab UHi 20 MAX LED, the EDC29 delivers a powerful 6,500 lumen output and an impressive throw of up to 437 yards. Designed for versatility, it provides four brightness levels, along with Spotlight, Floodlight, and Strobe modes.

Customizable Controls and Safety Features

The dual-stage mode button allows you to choose floodlight or strobe quickly. Meanwhile, the dual-stage power button controls the light's power and brightness levels. The EDC29 also features a Sensor Protection function that automatically reduces brightness if the light is accidentally activated in High mode, preventing overheating. This feature only activates when the light is turned on accidentally and deactivates during normal use.

USB-C Charging

The EDC29 can be charged through its built-in USB-C port. Once fully charged, the EDC29 can achieve a maximum runtime of 61 hours on its lowest mode and can be fully charged in just over 1 hour. Additionally, the EDC29 features two lockout modes: Semi and Full. In Half Lockout, you can still access Floodlight, Spotlight, or Strobe, while Full Lockout will fully prevent accidental activation. At a compact size of 5.26 inches and a weight of only 5.64 ounces, the EDC29 easily fits into any pocket. It is also water-repellant with an IP54 rating, and has 1-meter impact resistance, ensuring reliable performance in any environment.

A fantastic upgrade

I've carried and used the EDC27 for 3 years on my daily outdoor patrols, rain or shine on my duty belt, I carried these everywhere 24/7. Only with my turbo function failing I started to look for an upgrade. The EDC29 is an absolutely wonderful and needed upgrade for the EDC series. The safety switch is placed in the best spot for those with right handed draw; and allows me quick access to the strobe defense option (I depend on this mode the most against violent transients). It has improved (essentially x2 more powerful) brightness and throw distance compared to the previous model, the texturing for better grip when wet or covered in ice. The overall convivence and easy to access defense strobe option is what makes the EDC series my favorite flashlights to bring with me wherever I go, I feel confident I have something to defend myself with and use on the daily without getting suspicious looks, it's compact, powerful, simple and full of tech at the same time. In fact everybody asks to check it out when I do have to use it. I always describe the EDCs as "If a flashlight had a gun form" and I love how it was taken ten-fold in EDC29's concept. This is a definite buy for the Gear Head that takes his own safety and gear seriously, and ill definitely be back to buy more, and see what Nitecore has next in store for the EDC series, a series that stands on its own in the flashlight gear world.

Could be improved

i’ve had it for about 2 months now and it’s been alright however, there are a couple things i’m having an issue with. The half-click on the regular flashlight mode doesn’t seem to switch between lumens unless I press it down hard which sometimes turns off the whole thing cause i accidentally pressed down too hard, and then if it does work it’ll skip a few quickly, it used to work flawlessly after ever click when i first received it. Another thing is the casing, it’s nice but does get dirty quickly if it’s rubbing against things in your pocket.
