I have an EDC 29 and P23i, very nice flashlights. Today, while choosing a backpack, I saw the new EDC 37, I will order it soon. But there is one detail that I don't like about the EDC, it is the lack of IP68 protection.

Hello?

I think I'll come back when someone actually owns the lite!

Review bandwagon

As of 6/5/2025 I would also like to give a review of a light that I want but do not have. So I will review as if I've owned the light for 2 months. I am putting 3 stars only because it would garner more attention. However, in full transparency, I admit that I gave a 1 star review on that one Toy Story spinoff where buzzlightyear kisses another dude. I did not watch that movie nor have I read the book. However I stand firm behind that rating... but I digress.
The following will be a review of the EDC37 as if I actually owned the light and after studying the information available.

So far I am completely happy with my EDC37! I think if the light can last 5-6 years on the existing battery, it's a win. I'm sure someone will figure out how to replace the batteries evetually. The price point is fair for all the features I'm getting. The size is small and very pocket friendly, but I miss having a clip for more placement options. The lockout switch is nice because I no longer burning a hole in my thigh.
I left the customizable buttons as is since I don't know how to deal with that yet-being a new owner.
The battery display if very helpful-prevents me from blaming anyone else when the light doesn't turn on.
I must say that my favorite feature is the strobe function. When the wife walks aggresively into the room (you can tell by the tempo and volume of her shuffling footsteps), I quickly grab my EDC37 and instantly "strobe" her rendering her defenseless and disoriented. While she's rubbing her eyes and caught up in mumbled curses at me, I slip right passed her unseen and avoid the unnecessary conversation. That in itself is worth the $150. All the other features not mentioned are just gravy on top! This is my favorite Nitecore thus far. I hope my experience has help the next buyer make an informed decision. Thank you for your time.

Next Upgrade

I already have the ED27 & ED29 and I absolutely love them. I just purchased the ED37 and can't wait to get it. I can say without a doubt that Nitecore makes some quality products.

Interesting Rival to my Fenix TK20RV2

Fenix has impressed me and my 3200 Lumen light has done me well but this light intrigues me! 8000 Lumens huh? The visual battery % looks cool too. What sold me was 8k strobe!! That's avery important feature. I see myself purchasing this very soon. It's the same price as my Fenix. I guess we shall see... But I won't lie. Pretty excited. However unlike Harvey I can't just hand out 5 stars like it's Xmas so take my 2 stars w/ that in mind.
