Durable and Lightweight Design
Sharing the stage with the NU43 is a well-thought-out headband design. It is wider, more breathable, stretchy, and comfortable to wear. The LED assembly is protected by an aluminum frame for increased impact resistance and the whole headlamp is rated IP68 waterproof. Customers praised this headlamp as "powerful," "lightweight," and "comfortable" with "fantastic battery life." Many highlighted its exceptional brightness, describing it as turning "night into day." However, some noted fit issues during running, durability concerns with mounting brackets, overheating on high setting, and frustration with the proximity sensor.
I keep buying nitecore lights because their lighting technology is unsurpassed, however the bracket/mount and headband materials (mainly some not very robust plastic polymer - cheap) fail continuously. I use the headlight a lot. The little ratchet detent has broken off on two units. I remedied that by using a little piece of silicone jacketed 14 gauge wire wedged between the light and the mount body. The mount bracket that slides onto the headband broke - I crazy glued it. The headband itself stretches and loses elasticity, plus it doesn't maintain adjustment. If they could get the mounting quality and design figured out, the light would be perfect. Unfortunately many of their lights have a similar design. Will try Fenix.

The brightness and long life are better than another competitors headlamp I use. But this thing really doesn't sit comfortable on my head. It's either too tight and digs into my forehead, or too lose and bounces up and down while running. It desperately needs a strap overtop or needs to put the battery in the rear.
The nu43 is a wonderful product! I have vertigo which makes it hard to walk at night .. this is my go to at night for backpacking!

Don’t buy it if you want to operate on high. Apparently customer service thinks you buy a headlamp that only works in medium setting vs what it’s built for. This product gets extremely extremely hot when on high after a few minutes. Website doesn’t say anything like this, but the manual says it specifically. Nice headlamp just need to be up front with customers about extremely hot temperature while on high and not burry it in the manual as a surprise.
Cannot seem to fully charge this. I am getting ready to send it back unless someone has some advice.
I have been using them at work and the battery life lasts as described the 3 brightness modes are perfect and easy to change as needed.
Really great light coverage. Turns night into day. I used it for night fishing on the Betsey River in northern Michigan last weekend catching salmon (last weekend in September every year) it lights everything up in the river. Only complaint is I wish I could change out the battery so I can go longer than 3.4 to 4 hours before I have to use an old petzle headlamp

One of the strap buckle I think is mounted wrong and it hurts your head. The double click for the minimum setting do not work properly.
I love this light so far. The only thing I don't like about it is I have to hold the power button to turn it on vs. just pressing it once to turn it on. I'd rather have it one press to turn on and off, and a long press to change the light level. Other than that I've been using the light in the mornings and evenings for the past week and I don't think it has even used one dot of battery
For a minute, I thought this light would be kind of crappy and not bright at all, but man, I was wrong once again nitecore. Keep up the good work

I never would have ordered this if i had known about the "object sensor" which turns the lumens down to 100 if something is close to your face....like say if youre working on something in the dark!? Ridiculous feature. Please remove it and fire whoever thought of it and whoever let it get made. Goodbye
I am a welder and actually use this as a light on top of my welding helmet to see when I’m in tight and dark areas so I can see better before I start to weld. Works great. I bought 2 so I can keep one in a charger while I’m using the other. Love the quality.
While I have been pleased with the headlamp itself I have tried several times to get a question answered on the headlamp and have not got a good answer. Some generic answers that weren't relevant to the question

The headlamp stays nice & snug and is REALLY bright. I'm also enjoying the red light option.
i love it. its lightweight and its so bright that it will blind you if you look at it. it has a sensor to lower the brightness when someone is waling up so that it doesnt blind them. i love nightcore products.
I've been using various headlamps for a few years. As my eyes get older it's really handy to have a little extra light if I'm looking in a dark corner of a closet or doing some work on my boat or around the house. The NU43 has the perfect beam and fantastic battery life. It far surpasses any other light that I have. I don't even want to use any of the other lights now that I have the NU43. I also love the ability to adjust the beam without the typical hinge at the bottom of the light. The band on the NU43 is the most comfortable and stays put. Love, this light! I bought the Nitecore 43 because of the long, rechargeable battery life and fair price and planned to use it on my first 100 mile race. It did not disappoint. I only needed to use the low setting for most of the night, with some of the medium setting at times. When morning came I still had 3/4 of the battery life left! This headlamp provides a lot of usable light for very little energy cost. Great headlamp!
Light weight, flexible, does the job!
Excellent headlamp for metal detecting! I really appreciate being able to rotate this headlamp along with all the selections of light settings. It's sea turtle season here in Florida so the red light is prefect not to disrupt them but still bright enough to be effective on my end.The NU43 is also very comfortable. I definitely recommend it!
So far I really like the light and plan to buy more of your products I like that it's bright and the battery seems to last a long time between charges
Hardly noticeably a fraction but heavier than the lesser bright everyday use headlamps. I got this as a go to headlamp for bikepacking but in a pinch it’s bright enough to use for lighting the trail and road as a backup.
