This LEP flashlight delivers "incredible reach" with ultra-long throw distance and a concentrated beam. Customers praised its compact size, brightness, and "monster" performance. Some noted the flood mode is weak and button layout requires two-handed operation. A few mentioned battery issues and rapid brightness step-down. Overall, shoppers love the technology.
The flashlight is incredibly cool. It's my first LEP flashlight and it does not dissappoint. I don't live anywhere i can try out the crazy distance advertised, but for how i've been using it, it's perfect. Using it is relatively simple, with one small exception. The way the buttons are laid out, you're essentially required to use it two handed if you want to change lighting modes. With the power button on the tail and the mode buttons by the head, yo7 can easily click the flashlight on when holding it overhand, but must use your second hand (or have a very dextrous pinky finger) to adjust the light. If holding the flashlight underhand, you cannot easily turn the flashlight on and off single handed, though mode switching becomes easier. I would like to see an additional power button closer to the mode buttons, so that at least carrying it underhanded i can use the flashlight single handed.
I own two P35i’s and one P40. Both are very powerful, and I don’t see a significant difference in spotlight throw between the P40 and the P35i. The P35i has better flood capability, while the P40 offers more flexible output options, a more intuitive interface, and better battery life. Both are excellent lights.
Very bright
Light works great but the included battery was completely flat on delivery. Four stars for good customer service, Nitecore is sending a replacement battery at no charge as the included battery won't hold a good charge. Extremely happy but four stars instead of five because the original battery had to be replaced.

I really didn't need this flashlight - But I really wanted it. This is my fifth Nitecore flashlight, but this one was purchased solely for the "Cool" factor. I have no regrets. This light is a beast. I think it should work great for disaster preparedness. If you go hiking, it could also be used for an unexpected overnight stay or for signaling an aircraft or rescue teams - It won't take up much space, and its weight would be negligible in my opinion. It's output for the size of the flashlight is unbelievable.
It has a super long throw that is narrow. It has a lot of features that you can program for the different modes. I haven't tried everything just yet. I can't judge if it is worth the price - that is a matter for each person to decide.
It is not fair this 3 stars. Because this flash light is not for everyone. Do you study before you make decision to buy. Isn’t cheap. What I like. First the size. Very compact and well built. Good battery life. Once you get used to it easy to control. Now the bad. Flood mode is weak and not very useful. Plus the auto adjust is not working very well. The spot mode has very long range but because the color temperature is almost impossible to see. Should be a warmer color. Plus the spot is very small diameter. I guess if you are law enforcement or rescue will work. For every day Joe not much use. I own maybe 10+ Nitecore flash lights. Small and big. This personally for Me was waisted money. Will definitely give it to someone who can take advantage of the futures
The P40 has incredible reach and a narrow concentrated beam. The LED floodlight makes it usable… However the beam always gives me a crooked little grin when it slices through the dark. I bought this flashlight for the fun factor, but it definitely demands responsibility.

it steps down why too fast to be of real used
Love it. This thing is a monster. High spot easily lights from one corner to the other on our 20 acres. I used it, at the edge of the canyon, and it lights all the way across. Low flood is perfect for lighting up the whole yard, during night time potty breaks with the dogs.

This the most impressive flashlight ive ever got to lay my hands on. Its just like a light saber from star wars. Everyone who sees it light up objects blocks away congratulate me on such a cool light. I even found some people complaining about how intense the light was so im very satisfied with its performance to say the least. Keep up the great work.
