Description

500 Lumen Bright Headlamp

The Nitecore NU30 rechargeable headlamp is the ideal companion for various activities such as camping, hiking, running and more. Its ultra-high efficiency (UHE) LED system and unibody optical lens ensure optimal performance, emitting a bright 500 lumen beam that can reach distances of up to 142 yards.

Three Lighting LEDs

The NU30 offers remarkable versatility with its three lighting outputs: Primary White Light, Reading Light, and Red Light. When using the primary white light, you can access up to three different brightness levels by short-pressing the power button, or activate the ultralow mode by double-pressing the power button. When the light is off, double-press the power button to access the reading light, providing two low-brightness modes. Alternatively, switch to the Red Light by long-pressing the mode button when the light is off. The red light protects your night vision or is used as a long-lasting signal light with three modes: Low, High, and Slow Flashing. The NU30 also features modes like SOS and Beacon to assist you in any emergency.

USB-C Charging

Weighing only 3.17 oz, the NU30 is a lightweight headlamp perfect for night running, outdoor adventures, or camping. With a built-in 1500mAh rechargeable battery, it can achieve a maximum runtime of 97 hours on its lowest setting. Use the USB-C charging port to fully charge the NU30 in just 2 hours. A power indicator lets you know when it's time to recharge, and the lockout mode prevents accidental activation. The NU30 is also rated IP66 waterproof and can withstand impacts of up to 1 meter, making it a reliable companion for job sites, everyday tasks, camping, hiking, and more, in any environment.

Headlamp Convert

I did not want to purchase a rechargeable headlamp. However, I lost confidence in the lamp I was using and based on experience with other brands I was out of options for an alkaline battery platform. I bought the NU30 because I use all three modes (red, flood and spot). I wanted a lamp that could last about a week on a single charge (estimated runtime of about 25 hours). I also required a lockout function. Weight is important but a secondary consideration. Ease of use is essential. After 3 outings ranging in 3 to 5 days each, the NU30 checked all the boxes. I dropped to 25% energy remaining but never ran out of juice. So, I am confident the lamp will give me a week on a single charge. It was used several times in the rain and no moisture inside the lens. Learning the control buttons and sequences is almost intuitive. 500 lumens is really an overkill for my needs, but the light disbursement was clean with no hot spots or color rings. The unit feels solid, but I would not expect it to survive a drop down a rock face. The buttons are very reactive. Charge time from 25% is about an hour on a power block. I wish the NU30 had a waterproof rating of IP67 vs the IP66, should I drop it in a creek. The headband is very comfortable but does allow some slight slippage. I rate the NU30 as a solid buy.

Too many light options

Too many light options. Red, Three or four white choices. I wanted it for grilling in the winter when it gets dark. High Low would be perfect.

It is a very nice headlamp, bright enough for daily use at home and hiking at night. It just a little on a heavier side but its good enough. Value for money.

Works just fine

RED LED does work just fine. The RED LED function is a must for me. As a note, this model does have a built in battery. I prefer a built in battery. It uses the USBC charging port. I prefer the Micro USB charging connection that was standard in the NU32. The NU32 is my favorite but not available anymore.
