Nitecore MT06MD 180 lumen Pen Light

Poor quality

If using for pupil exams get something simpler. The low light pupil exam light has to be cycled through the other (quite bright) settings which would blow your Pts pupils out and piss them off if used. The button on the back which cycles the light feels loose and is inconsistent with respect to cycling through brightness levels.

The primary case feels heavy duty and the tool fits appropriately into a “pen pocket” on 5.11 EMT pants.

Overall, my perception is of a tool that is over engineered in the wrong ways and under engineered for its use (especially at the price point).

Works well enough, but doesn't have the quality feel of my Streamlight pen light. Almost feels loose/rattle-y when you shake it.

The button on the tail cap is loose and difficult to operate. I'd send it back for a refund but i don;t want to pay to ship it back and go through the hassle.

I use this every day to evaluate patients and I really love the fact that it always starts on low, it’s the perfect brightness level even in a lit room. It renders color beautifully; the light it emits is so crisp it’s like like a window letting out a little bit of soft natural sunlight. My only gripe is that once in a blue moon it won’t turn on unless I loosen and retighten the cap

The light is small enough to carry with pens. The dimmest brightness setting is useful as a default for not blinding people (or myself), and the brightest setting is plenty bright. I like that it uses AAA, which are everywhere.

I purchased this Penlight as a gift for my girlfriend who is a Registered Nurse. I was excited to see Nitecore offer it being familiar with their products. She is Extremely pleased and impressed with it. Excellent Value at its cost.

When the pen light arrived, it did not work as advertised. Customer service promptly sent me a replacement. All is well now; I'm satisfied with this product.

The pen light was bought for auto repair it is good for seeing true color and I need that.

This light is for my first aid kit. It always starts out on low for use when checking an injured person's pupils. There are white painted circles on the exterior of the light to get an accurate estimate of the size of pupil dilation. The next click gives a medium bright light and a 3rd click will go to high power of180 lumens. Small enough to carry in a shirt pocket or pants pocket. This can also be used for every day carry, women's pocket books, or as a versatile light for a car so you can do map checks, write notes on Low, inspect engine trouble on Medium, or signal oncoming traffic or search around the car on High,

I've used this penlight for more than two years as a clinician. I love the textured finish and the color of the light. The color makes wounds and skin look true compared to other LED penlights with a blue hue.

This is what a pen light should be. Well built, no gadgets, simple and functional.

As a nurse I have tried many penlights. Most are too dim or too bright. This has become my go to light. The low beam is perfect for checking pupils while the higher power options are great for when you really need to see to find something under a bed without turning on the room lights.

These lights are built really tough. You needn't worry about using them in a wet environment as they're waterproof. They're intensely bright. I recommend using lithium AAA batteries in them.

I gave it to my son in law, a doctor. I was way more impressed with the illumination tool (flashlight) than he was.

This was a gift for our son who is an MD. The item was shipped on time and ge is very happy with his present.

This penlight is a solid, well made instrument, with simple controls, AAA battery usage instead of other types that can be hard to find outside of major metro areas. Not rechargeable, which is my second favorite feature. The best feature is that it always turns on in the low-power mode. Simple controls - one button with a stiff spring to prevent accidental activation.

I am very happy that this is a simple, sturdy unit. Ditto on the AAA battery requirement .

I've been purchasing your flashlights for a few years now and I'm genuinely impressed. I unfortunately lost my last MT60 somewhere in in the field, But I couldn't go without it! Its extremely useful for my line of work, and perfect for every day carry! I've only been using the MT60MD for a few days now and I love it as much as the original, 10/10 great flashlight guys!

Great pocket sized pen light. It shipped fast and works exactly as advertised.

Penlight looks sturdy and very well made. Only complaint is that the light is almost too bright to use to assess pupils, even on the lowest setting. Works excellently as a flashlight on high settings. Would definitely recommend this product.

I’m happy with how quickly it showed up, the minimal packaging, the use of USPS. I’ve only just tested the light, but it seems to work well. I really like the nitecore site use too.

Used as a Rgistered Nurse. Light weight. Does not weigh my pocket down. Bright, with different settings. A great everyday carry light as well.

I purchased the mt06md to replace my previous thorfire pf04 penlight that eventually fell apart. So far here is my review of MT06MD
Pros:
Very good quality finish (feels good in the hand)
Rear metal click button
Starts off in low mode and always reverts back to low mode i like this feature
Customer service is pretty good so far and responds quickly
Cons:
I dont like the printed pupil chart very tacky
Battery rattles inside the flashlight
The rear button feels lose at times
Clip isn't very strong compared to my thorfire

Bought this for the gf and she says she loves it much more than the disposable ones they provide for her at work. She likes the NW tint a lot more and says colors look more accurate.
