Customers praised this compact, rechargeable keychain flashlight for its impressive brightness (300 lumens), multiple light modes, and UV feature. Many noted "very bright for its size" and appreciated the USB-C charging. However, several shoppers reported the button is difficult to operate, saying it's "very difficult to turn it on" and hard to cycle through modes. Some experienced reliability issues with batteries failing after months.

Good main light, Auxiliaries could use come work

Review for TIKI GITD.

The main flashlight portion is great. I love the different lumen levels and feel they are spaced out nicely. I would like to see the momentary on setting changed to the 60 lumen output though, as in some situations blasting out the full 300 lumens is a bit blinding.

I found that the Auxiliary UV light was pretty useless except for charging the GITD body. It did not show security strips in money or illuminate stains, spills or residues. I have a different 400nm UV light that did reveal all of these when compared head to head. So I am not sure if maybe the GITD body was blocking the 365nm UV led from its true potential or not. I would have to pick up the non-GITD version to test. But even if it did work, the UV feature would be pretty useless for me.

The GITD body is nice and visible when "charged" but does not last very long. After "charging" it for 10 minutes with another UV light AND the built in UV led at the same time to give it the best chance, it stops glowing at all after about 30 minutes. When being more realistic and only "charging" it by ambient light, the glow is gone before it is dark enough to even see it every time. So it does not work well enough passively, some user "charging" or use of the white light is required to make use of the GITD feature. When the only "charge" it gets is from using the TIKI's white light for a few minutes, it stops glowing after about 5 minutes. The Glow In The Dark is a handy feature for if you were just using the light, turned it off and set it down or dropped it. It is very easy to spot when freshly "charged", but only for that short window. In my opinion, not enough for the +$5 over the normal TIKI and I would not buy the GITD version again.

My improvement suggestion would be to replace the UV light with a red led (like the LE version) that can do solid and flash. And remove the flash from the high CRI led. And have the Aux modes in the order, white light, red solid, red flashing. This would make the light a little more useful for those who do not need to inspect currency or check for scorpions on a regular basis and be a nice middle ground between the LE version. Red would be good for protecting night vision or signalling.

Overall I like the formfactor, run times and main led a lot. Especially at this price point! And I feel like combining some of the features from the regular TIKI and the TIKI LE would make an even better EDC light to keep on keys, hang on a backpack strap, keep inside a purse or anywhere else you might need a small but powerful and feature rich rechargeable light. Great for everything from fumbling a key into a lock, to searching under the seat for a dropped item to possible roadside emergencies or power outages.

It is very difficult to turn it on

It is very difficult to turn it on. A quick press holds it on, but it I want it to stay on, it is not easy.

Does not Function as Advertised

I love the size, and the luminosity is also fantastic. But the multifunctional button does not work, so I am unable to cycle through different options. I have to hold and press the on/off button for the light to work at all

Almost returned it. Glad I didn't.

I don't have very strong hands, and the little ring that attaches to the clasp that attaches to the flashlight - none of these parts were attached, and it was so frustrating to put them together - that I actually sent an email to the company requesting a refund which they kindly obliged. Before packing it up, I asked my son (who has very strong hands) if he could help me out with it and within a few minutes, he had it all pieced together, and now it's my constant companion on my keychain, and like I said, it works great. I'm happy I kept it, and I didn't let me initial frustration get the best of me.

Not a huge fan on of the operability

I'm not a huge fan on of the operability.
Too much clicking of that one little button, it's two double clicks to get it to the lightness level that I most often use. I also don't like that it returns to low every time it's cycled off.
IT IS A NITECORE, HOWEVER, SO IT'S STILL AWESOME, AND I LIKE IT!

Nice

I bought this as an upgrade to the tube on my keychain/as a backup light when backpacking and I really like it. Favorite things: double click to turn on feels much more secure than the single click tube, I expect it wont get turned on accidentally in my pocket which is an issue with the tube; much brighter at max setting but still has some nice low settings; the high CRI light is nice for reading color coded maps in the dark, this doesn't seem like a big deal until you've tried to do it with a blue-leaning light and can't differentiate between certain colors. Only one thing I wish was different: I don't expect to get much use out of the UV mode, a red mode would be much more useful. Obviously this will differ between users, but the option to have CRI and red as the secondary lights would be perfect.

Fun keychain light.

Nice, bright, and lightweight. Not any longer than my key fob. UV aux light leave a lot to be desired but the main light and aux white light are perfect for my use case.
